Polaris has recall on everything 2013 -2023 announced today, call your dealers and see what’s up. It’s either fuel tank or fuel pump related my dealer said and no direction on the fix yet. It’s recall # S-22-09
Polaris has determined that with degraded fuel and especially after extended storage, Model Year 2021-2023 MATRYX, 2015-2022 AXYS, and select Model Year 2013-2014 Trail Performance (Pro-Ride) snowmobiles may pose a risk of fire due to electrostatic discharge (ESD) inside the fuel tank. Under...
Hope this doesn't turn into another 1981 Kawasaki recall for their tracks, that led to the shutdown of the snowmobile division...If Polaris has to replace 230,000 fuel tanks, it could spell disaster...
Why would it kill off Polaris? Cat had to do the same thing recently on all those firecats M and crossfires. Skidoo also had to replace a bunch of gas tanks. I got an email today from Polaris with my vin number on it saying don’t ride it and they don’t have a solution on how to repair it.
Called my dealer and they said it has something to do with old gas and possible static electricity in tank that is left less than full. No fix yet. Couldn't elaborate beyond that. Huh?! lol
Simular to a recall Polaris and other manufacturers had in early 2000's when the neck of the fuel tank could break off if the sled was stored in the sun uncovered.
This is not good. Material shortages, already not enough Techs working at dealers, this will take a very long long time. Might have to go buy a Cat just to get thru the winter.
Still have my 2009 IQ Shift 😊
Thanks for the offer😊
