Ok...so this has been talked about numerous times but I need to come up with a better solution. My standard piano hinge is absolutely junk. It was perfect at the beginning of the season but after only 4 trips in the trailer it is beat up bad. Beyond the functionality of the hinge Im kind of anal about my shaper bars. I cringe every time I run my skis over the flap hinge. Recently I saw a trailer that hinged the flap from both ends. This is absolutely the best way to go but not sure if there is a way to retrofit. Does anyone know of a kit to adapt the existing setup? Or if you have come up with a better solution Id love to hear it. I also use the trailer for my business, to haul finished materials, so I really dont want to add ski guides.

Completely junk that whole flap and add the caliber edge glides. 10pc kit is about $100.... WAY better, and you'll never have to wory about the hinge, your carbides, or the wood again.

Soooo happy my new trailer has tapered ramp doors and no hinges. But I agree with ^^^, scrap the flap!
if you are talking about between door and the trailer floor another idea is to lay a piece of PVC pipe in the gap, which is what I do. But yeah, the Caliber hinge glides are the way to go. I will get them when I have some free coin
My trailer didn't come with one so I added it for like 75$ I think? You just have to supply the plywood and install it. Not a big deal I guess. If your set on doing that I can get you the info I think.

Nice I would like that for my older Triton instead of the full length hinge. I was even going to ask Blizzard MFG if they could retrofit my trailer with that this summer. Let me know where to get the parts also please.
