Has anyone dynoed a later model RXC? I know they are rated at 125 on the cat website but I also know that speedwerx tunes the ecu so I’m guessing there’s a couple extra HP? Wishful thinking?

I had the dyno sheets from cat on the 2016. It made like 115 hp.

Dam that’s lower than I expected. Do you know if it was during break in or post break in?

D&D posted one at 119 from a 2017 RXC. That was brand new with 0 miles. The am snow shootout dynoed the new 2019 ZR 6000 and it came in at 127, so you can bet an RXC is the same. Call it 125 and once its broke in, thats what you got. Cat needs to do something as the new Doo 600 is much quicker.

127? First I’ve heard that. It was the slowest 600 for 2019 amsnow. Highest I have seen was 125hp for I believe 2018. but most of the dyno results are 118-120hp. It’s definitely do for a tune-up! It is drop dead reliable though. And it runs very well.

Dyno is shit no 600 is making that power. A 600 is no more powerful than it was 10 years ago.

Taper600 or someone else posted it a while ago. The New DOO 600 came in at 133.

OK... So for the last 8 years or so, they have been claiming the 600 to be 125hp. They all claim it. Now I can see being off by a couple, but they are not off by 10.

Dam I’m starting to second guess my rxc purchase but then I think back to the ‘95 Mach 1 I had which coincidently dynoed at 120ish hp back then and I enjoyed it just fine but still.

If its so reliable, why were they blowing up in the long crosscountry events?:dunno:

Your trolling... You never really ever hear of a 600 blowing up. If it did... Its a fluke or its been modified...
look at iron dog race
I have personally logged over 12,000 miles on 2 6000 ctecs with zero issues. They spend their lives pinned every ride all day. I don’t really care about “iron dog”. Who knows what they have done to those sleds. I’d be willing to say it’s probably one of the more reliable engines built. Could just use more power... but it is a 600.

You must be looking at the DOO's then, because Cat usually fairs very well in that race.
Since 2009, cat has only won once......that was in 2017, before the C-TEC

Im not saying its a bad motor, but it isnt as good as the old Zuk, or any of the other brands. Maybe it will get some upgrades soon like the 800 is getting.

Just curious. How many ctec 600s have you owned?

My buddy has one, and it lost a piston at 1500 miles. It has been good since and now is at 5k miles.
And how many I have owned is not relevant. When they first came out there was more than a few on here that blew too. like I said , I'm not here to start shit. but they are not the greatest 600 out there, I'd say thet are pretty much equal.

Got some links to all the ones that blew? Not iron dog sleds, pretty sure a lot of sleds go down in that race.

Before I bought mine I couldnt find much (if any) bad press. I ran mine to the bar for 4k miles and it runs like a top. Traded for an 800 this year, hopefully it's as good.
