So it's been snowing all day so far. We have picked up like 2 inches, which is normally how we get most of our snow up here in the NEK. Nickel and dime snow. Anyway, I would be ok if I didn't read the forecast discussion from the NWS which is calling for moslty freezing rain and rain for the storm on New Years. So the question of the day:

Is it better to have snow and lost it, or is it better to not snow at all?

I vote for not snow at all, since I'm going to be mighty pissed when this gets washed away.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
COMPLEX STORM SYSTEM WL APPROACH FA LATE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY WITH
PLENTY OF UNCERTAINTY WITH STORM EVOLUTION AND TRACK ATTM. WL CONT
WITH PREVIOUS FCSTER THINKING WITH PRIMARY SFC LOW ONCE AGAIN
TRACKING TO OUR WEST AND PLACING OUR CWA IN THE WARM SECTOR. THIS
WOULD SUPPORT A MOSTLY RAIN EVENT...HOWEVER SOME SIGNS WITH
SECONDARY DEVELOPMENT ALONG THE COAST AND SFC HIGH PRES OVER
NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND...ENOUGH LLVL COLD AIR MAYBE IN PLACE TO HAVE
PRECIP START AS A MIX OF SLEET...FREEZING RAIN...AND SNOW...THEN
CHANGE TO ALL RAIN.

SAY WHAT !!!!!!!

Now that sounds down right depressing, don't give up yet, gezzzzz.

I have all the faith in the world that January and February will be the best snowmobiling we've had in a while...

yeh, but the next two weeks? i know uvm isn't that far away... but to travel 1.5-2 hours one way home, load up the sled, go 2 hours the other way, ride for one day and repeat travel the following, it just isn't worth it.... lotsa lotsa gas for the truck.

plus, i have to complete my school work somewhere within that time.
