looking through my book last night and it says i need to compress and install a holder BEFORE removing the clutch from the crankshaft??? why is this, i have never had a sled that needed the clutch compressed in order to remove it they simply just had the puller threaded in and off they come.

so whats the deal with this clutch?? is this really neccessary or not? :dunno:

Not sure what they're talking about. I took mine off last night and as you say nothing special was required. Whole clutch pops right off. :div20:

Having the clurch compressed just makes it easier to get it off the end of the crankshaft once it's popped off. It kinda tight in there. Just rotate the clutch once you have it popped off and pull out alittle as your rotating and you will come to a spot where it will come up out of there. No need to compress.
