Hi guys, posting this for a friend.
He bought a 93 XLT, the sled was equipped with some PSI modblaster pipes. While cleaning the carburetors, I noticed that the main jetting was 220 for Mag and Center, while the PTO end had a 230. Can anybody verify this is correct? I assume that usually the PTO end gets the richest jetting, but have heard conflicting information regarding which cylinder gets the fatter main jet - thanks for any info!

Its basically what we ran for aaen pipes in the 93 xlt that had 34 mm carbs. Instead of the 230 on the pto cyl., we ran a 220. Lot depends on the height raised on air intake hood over the hood itself, that leads to the air box opening.
On another note those pipes are friggin loud....hopefully your buddy stays off any private trails with this sled.

richer and fatter mean the same thing.

correct, which cylinder gets it?
In your case its the pto...clutch side. I had to run a main jet size richer for the pto cyl. on my 95 xcr 600 when it ran triple pipes, seem to be a characteristic of those 600 mono blocks if running triple pipes. The earlier 580 didn't.

the mono block xlt motor usually needs the pto cylinder richer. this is the hottest cylinder in this motor. furthest from the water pump. it's the ctr, cylinder on ultra's, 800 xcr. but like was said not every motor is the same. piston wash, plug reading, and ex. gas temp should be checked and jetting adjusted on the findings.

The PTO cylinder also has the most direct shot of air on the airbox

I ran the slp air box, aaen pipes, and 38 tmx flat slides on my 95 xcr 600, it never needed the pto main richer. My buddies 95 xlt 600 did however, his sled had 34 carbs and aaen pipes. Go figure
