Well guys, I am looking to get a great fast trail clutching and gearing for my pro xr 800 this year. I will be a the big east show this weekend and I hope to find the springs, gears, and weights I need for cheap.

The sled has 25/40 gearing on it(not sure what stock is). It also has a ripsaw with 144 down the middle, air horn, 2 flowrites, boysen rad valves, and an mbrp can. I am 180 pounds. It also has the Polaris PERC secondary helix on it.

I am looking for a great fast trail setup. I know there are a few of you out there that have this sled. Thanks for any input.

ditch the MBRP can, i lost 6 mph on my 01 xc 600 by putting it on, and nothing was changed at the time before and after the can.

I would say almond/red primary,68gm weights, team helix #420720, and red/blue spring. Not sure how much gearing wise you want to change. What you have is stock. If you just want to change a little go with 25/41 or 24/41. :div20:

my best setup for my 800 pro-x was 10-70's, blue/white primary spring, 66-44.46 helix, and reverse black/red sec spring. 25-42 gearing. get your tach checked and rev it at 7800 true revs....dont beleive the dream o meter(uncalibrated stock tach)

I run 24-41(1.63) gearing. Dump the can & get an SLP single. Ran the 66s-44s-42s-E helix last year with good success, but my motor is modified. 70 deg. helix angles on a TEAM is too much IMO. THe motor also likes 42-44 deg finishing angle. Up front I run alm/blue with 73gr of wt. Found out the season before that the "wall" was do to rich main jetting(in my case). You might trying going down a size or two.
