Any one else still rocking the old school leathers? I have some vintage 1995 leathers I ride in all the time. The jacket is beat up do to wind and a couple bad crashes. But I love them. :fluffy:

Had another old dude walk up to me in a parking lot he was wearing some old Arctic Cat leather and asked what year? I said 1995. he said 1990...got me but I still love my leather. I guess if I see someone in some old ones I might walk up and ask "What year?"

They are personalized. The stud marks on the back represent when I was run over by my own machine. The wear on the knees represent when I was knocked off my machine in a white out by a car and slid down the road on my hands and knees.

They go down to minus 30 no problem. I can actually feel the holes wear the stitching is for the elbow pads when it is that cold. If its warm just wear shorts underneath.

At Starvation Lake and a young girl asked me if they were cold to ride in.....lol

At minus 30 I can zip up the entire collar and cover my neck.

Leather is the best. I might consider a new suit if I could find leather.

I think Dave was injecting a little humor to the M Jackson post.

Back to topic, The best part of buying leathers is having them form fit to your body.
I have an old motorcycle jacket that fits like a glove. But I got caught in an unexpected downpour once, no raincoat on board. I swear that jacket weighed 50#'s when I finally got home and pealed it off. And it took forever to dry out.

The other thing I like about new leather is the smell.

Don, what year jacket is that? Poo used a lot of purple and pink in the mid 90's.
I'm guessing '95. Looks like it's in mint shape. Pretty cool.

I have an old Polaris leather ( I think it's a 650 suit ) black grey and a lil red highlight. Super high quality. I've slid down the oval track with it saved my ass. Of course it doesn't fit my fat ass anymore.

I got a set of Ski-Doo leathers in 1983. I wore them for 15 years. The knees got so thin that they weren't very warm. The last straw was when I got them out in the fall and they had mold growing on them. I finally gave in and got newer gear. It's a lot warmer and lighter. I kept the leathers for about another 10 years because I couldn't bear to throw them away. They're gone now.

I wore 1990 650 Indy Leathers until about a month ago. I remember my friends thinking I was nuts for paying that much for a snowmobile suit, 26 years later they thought it was a good investment. I would have kept using it but the pocket linings wore through and the zippers were giving me issues.

Yep my pockets all need stitching and have had zipper work done.

I bring them to an old shoe repair man. He once said " Bob those are the biggest leather britches I have ever seen" :fluffy:

I also suspect that I will pay as much if not more for a new set by KLIM and it wont last me 22 years. Hell I am 56 this season I hope to be riding when I am 78,

I have the all Black leather jacket with thin red pinstriping from AC from a while back. It's still a very nice jacket and for riding in places where it's BELOW ZERO everyday you can't find anything warmer. I've tried. I call it my Northern Ontario outfit. What works in a warmer climate won't up there. Including my low windshield and thin gloves. Nope.

If you post a picture of your 650 jacket I’ll see if my bibs match it. I have a set of black grey witha lil red highlight (I think ) set of Polaris letter bibs that I believe were a 89 or 90 650 suit. The Jacket is long gone but still have the bibs they are ok but not perfect. They could use some leather treatment etc. but he could have them free but pay all shipping. I don’t need them for anything if they match your jacket.

Ok...I might even have more Leather coats, I was buying them about every 2-3 years, may have more hanging in the attic, ya never know what I still have here that hasn't sold, still have a couple $1000 in new wear bars and clutch springs and many other items.
