so i have put new pistons and rings in got the compression up . i fixed the crank problems i have aaen triple pipes with epi clutch kit . when it holes 9200 rpm it goes good last year i lost compression at end of the year . so it would not pull 9200 but any way i wanted to know if i should cut the head and add gearing to it . to make it go that much better or any advice will be grat thanks :beerchug:

The Aaen pipes are finicky, and not much backup torque. Gear to at least 19/39. A set of SLP heads for 91 octane fuel if you trail ride is a good idea. Depending on if you have the 580 or 597 you need different heads. Also revent your carbs with fittings from a 97 XLT Ltd. so each carb is vented to the airbox, below the shelf. Jet the mains up 3 sizes after you do this. It would be a good idea to have the pipes ceramic coated if you are going to keep them. Also if oyu gear down you may have to go to a different secondary spring.

thanks for the help i have the 580 dont know if i want to put the money into coating the pipes though .
