At about 850 miles I lost my motor like a lot of you due to lack of oil they say. I have about 2100 miles on now and today I was doing a service on it so I pulled the exhaust manifold to check the pistons, there are light scratches on both the pistons and the cylinders, the mag side has more than the clutch side but both do have some small scuffs or scratches. I have had the oil pump service done back when I lost it the last time.
Is this normal wear or am I going to lose the motor again?
And has anybody lost there motor sense having the oil pump service done? Thanks for any help.

do a compression teston it.
if you cant feel the scratches with your fingernail,
you are probley fine.
do you have a coffee looking stain about
a 1/2 inch below the bottom ring??
that is normal, according to cat.
i have 1240 miles on mine,
the pump has not been done yet.
mine seem's fine so far.

it wouldent be a bad idea to let your dealer look at it,
just for the hell of it.
i'm puling my manifold tonight,
just to check it out.

i had my pipe off about a week ago just checkin over some things.... i noticed some scratches on the pistons. So when i brought it in for the oil pump update i asked my dealer to take a look at it....anyways i have 2 new pistons comin for mine, my dealer said he would rather do it now before it goes bad.
