i had a friend that just purchased a 04 prox2 700. he got it home and found that the perc does not work. i tested continuity thru the swith and it is good. checked the ground and it is also good. checked the two connection's down by the air box and the wire's going to the cdi box, they appear to be ok. tried a different cdi box because we had one off a different sled and that didn't help. does anybody know what it take's to make the system work, (crank position sensor) i didn't think they had a crank sensor. it looks like you just ground the system when you actuate the switch, but i may be mistaken. i could use some good idea's if anybody has any. i didn't think they had too many problem's with the system.

I believe the gray wire going into the cdi is for reverse.

To put engine in reverse that wire needs a quick ground applied to it, momentary. Same to get it running forward.

So if you skin a little piece of that wire, and give it a quick ground, you will definatelly be sure its not a wiring problem.

Does the sled do any thing? Does it just keep running? stall? backfire?

No crank sensor, your correct.
