I know, I know all stud sites have stud patterns.
The problem is I have not seen patterns without
double backers! If I put 3 studs in each lug valley
I will end up with 153. Or should I just use double
backers? I have a 1.375 lug track.

I don't like the fact that you have two studs that close together, When I have a deep lug track, because of the length of stud you have to run.

Double plates are actually better for longer studs...more support per stud. first year I've used them, but I like them. I used the woodys template with fastrac studs and plastic backers....very nice.

I went with single backer's when i did mine.
i put 153...1.175...fast trac in and they bite
hard.I used the single backer's so i could move
the stud's around a little better...i never
used a template..i went with 3 per lug.

I used 156, 1.075 Gold Diggers in my 1" track and also used Woody's double digger pattern, however, I used single backers instead of double backers.

So, went with a 4,2,4,2,4,2,4,2,4,2,4,2,4,2,4,2,4, repeat starting with 4. Instead of skipping every 17th lug, I added 4 more studs and off-set them from the 4 before it. I rode this weekend and the sled hooked up very well.
