For those of you that own this helmet, how do you like it? What helmet did it replace? How does it compare to the modular?

I'm a big fan of my Oxygen. It's not without fault but so far, with dozens of HJC modulars in past for both street and snow, this O2 is superior in every way except cost. It's warm, but not horrible, but it is very sealed, so it gets to be kinda a rainforest in there. I personally can't ride more than 20 seconds if I forget to plug it in. Literally in 20 seconds I know it's not plugged in. Because of this I carry a spare cord and controller, as well as any wiring and tools I need to direct connect it to my battery if my E-Linq fails. It will literally be impossible for me to ride even a mile without it plugged in, because it's design is so completely sealed.

Not having anything over my face and not having a balaclava is a HUGE advantage to me. And the field of view is great. I'm used to modulars, and was worried I'd miss it, but you can literally drink a pint glass with this helmet on. Another huge bonus is the drop down glasses actually work. I've had them for a decade or more in my HJCs, but even in the summer on the street they are not usable. I sweat a lot, and the glasses are constantly wet. Even if I dropped them down right at the start they would fog quickly. But the O2, they live in a heated compartment. And when you drop them down, the shield is so super heated that the glasses don't fog up. I have both a yellow and a smoke glasses insert that I carry with me. It's a big reason why I love this helmet.

The clarity of the shield is shitty, I will admit that. It's not crystal clear like you'd hope, almost like it still has the protective plastic still on it . But I don't notice any distortion or weird issues at night and I ride at night a lot. The helmet is lighter than anything I've had previously and super, super comfortable. The built in balaclava is absolutely awesome.

I love mine but I certainly can see why some people can't stand it. If you can embrace how super sealed the design is.. if you can accept that it ABSOLUTLY can't be used without the cord, I think maybe you'd like it. My Sena works great in it because it's so sealed. I'm a happy customer but I do admit it's still not the perfect helmet- which I don't believe exists.

My wife and I have been using Oxygen helmets since they first came out in 2019. We had BV2s helmets for years and these O2’s are a huge improvement. Now with the Elinq they are even better. Best helmets ever in my opinion.
They aren’t cheap but when I bought two new turbos back in 2019 The deal clincher was when I had my dealer throw in two new Oxygen helmets to complete the deal. The problem today is it’s a sellers market and you would be lucky to have your dealer throw in a free key fob.
