it's coming guys, we dealt with this late snow several times before.

The reason we have no snow is because many of us have new sleds that we are happy with. Now if we all had broken arms or busted sleds and couldn't ride we would have snow up to our nuts!!

So, thank UGVFD for trying to get it to snow by busting up is arm.

Johndee has an uplifting forecast for us over the next week or two. lets keep on hoping!

I have not been in the northwoods since deer hunting last November. I truly feel for the business owners up there, but it's difficult to justify the fuel bill and associated cost just to go up there and go out to eat.

While it certainly is a noble gesture, I probably won't be able to afford to support the northwoods until there is ample snow cover and good trail conditions. I know it sounds selfish, but it's just the way it is for me right now....However, if I had other business to attend to, or additional reasons to travel up there, I would have no problem supporting the local economy.

Thanks for seeing what im trying to do G2O. I sure am hopeing for snow for up norths money situation to improve. We really need to give the state the support in Feb and March. People just need to change their mind set to say we ride after the 1st or 2nd week in January not November/December or move to Alaska.

Just thinking today on my lunch hour that if this is the warmest January on record, and past few winters have been mild we should be headed for a trend of fantastic snow falls the next few years!!! Just wishful thinking? I hope not. Atleast my snowblower isn't at risk of breaking down. Its not even being used!

Johndee has the same theory. Weather is cyclical and there are historic averages. We are bound to have a good year sooner or later!

I am going out to spend a little money in the northwoods tonight. Or maybe I should say that I am going to donate to the Native American Colege fund at te Lake of the torches donation center?

There are very few restaraunts around the Minocqua area that are really worth a shit. If we had some great places I bet people would travel to eat here.

Seriously, what have we got around here? Paul Bunyans crap food to entertain the tourist's? The Casino sucks ass for food!! that Friday night Seafood and crab-leg buffet has melted margarine under the guise of it being real butter.

Marty's place north? Too friggin expensive for what it is!

TNT's willow haven closed, it is under new management but have not heard any news on the food quality yet,

Spangs opened a new location in Timber ridge, The menu is a welcomed departure from their normal offerings,

The Blink Bonnie used to be good way back when and into the 1980's but disappointing as of late.

The only real decent place to eat around here is the Chinese place in Woodruff, Monicals Pizza in A/V, and Jacobi's in Hazelhurst. Of course the Minocqua country club is always excellent, but it is a members only establishment. (I know one of the Chef's there)

One of these years you guys will see a new BBQ & steak-house place in Minocqua, And I will welcome all you HCS people when you come in. because I will be the one that owns the place. Northwoods food at a price the northwoods can afford. I just got to find a good supply of Hickory for the BBQ pit.

The restarant owners are not hurting that bad.Yes tnt willow haven is open and the food is ok.I do like the fact that the new owners are not queers to.You should try the hideaway restarant in harshaw.Great place and food is some of the best north of tomahawk. You are right about minoqua, places kind of suck. They could change that if they would stop focusing on out of town biz. They should cater to the local biz and have consistent cash flow all year round, and the out of town a bonus.

Clearview Supper Club is the best. We have tried everything and I mean everything around the Northwoods, and Clearview has the best bar, best seating area, best drinks, best steaks, best ribs, best value.
