did the RAP tour 2/19-2/21 .some of the main trails were closed and many main or secondary trails had 3-4' moguls for many miles and had not been groomed in weeks. Severely dissapointed.the locals were great tho.

Wow that sucks. What main trails were closed? Were they closed when you started riding or did they close them after you started your RAP ride?

Seems like the RAP tour is always like that, especially bad on weekends. I did the RAN tour on Thursday, trails were unbelievable. Smooth the whole way. Maybe 10kms were bumpy out of 500.

We did the RAP the week before, during the week. Everything was great, a couple days I'm not sure if we hit any bumps.

Just finished the RAP tour on Friday. Trails were spot on! We always do the RAP during the week, traffic is minimal, and the trails are usually freshly groomed after the weekend warriors are done.

That's the problem with Ontario. They groom AFTER the weekend. Trails should be groomed FOR the weekend, when the majority of riders ride. This is what QC does.

Not where I live. When trails are open they are groomed before the weekend, during the weekend and after the weekend. If you aren't already involved in volunteering for a club, you should give it a try. you might get an education.

Our trails typically get groomed Thurs/Fri/Sat/Mon. Sometimes on a weekend the traffic is so high that you would never know the groomer had passed within 24 hrs. Its the reality of snowmobiling today unfortunately. There are only so many operators and the groomers can only move so fast.
