my pal rides a z370 he can only get 50mph out of it. we put a new belt on but it didnt help much. he says sometimes it feels like it wants to go then the rpms seem to back off. we are thinking primary clutch needs spring. any help would be appreciated. thxs
Any 370 is good for at least 70 on the speedo.
My first guess would be to check the primary spring that its not broken. Then I would check the secondary spring, there should also be preload on it. Take the springs out of the secondary and the primary and make sure the clutches can roll all the way open/closed.
Check your clutch weights, dependng on how many miles, the bushings could be worn and the weights might be hitting the spider.
Check all your motor mounts for a broken one and that your clutches should be aligned.
What do you plugs look like?? If Black, then start with the carbs.
Make sure both of your carb slides are attached and movable.
Check to see if one of your main jets or needles vibrated out.
