My oil consumpion is in the 60 - 65:1 range so this would seem to be OK....or not? from what I have been reading on this website it would appear the lean oil problem is primarly in the 6,000 - 6500 rpm range. So unless you ride primarly in this rpm range do we really know if a 65:1 ratio is OK? tighening the oil pump rod up for sure well richen the mixture but for the whole rpm band so maybe the ratio is OK at 6,000 rpm now but would it not be to rich in the rest of the rpm ranges? This recent service bullition fix just seems to be a bandaid fix to keep motors from burning down. I hope there is a new oil pump coming that is proportioned correctly.

It is just a temp. fix, you still have to put some oil in even after they adjust the pump till they come up with some new pumps or what ever. That's what the extra gallon of oil is for.
