I found this interesting. My wife gets about 80:1 and I get 70:1 on the same sled. Just different driving styles (I was guessing that but now I feel better about it).

To All.
The inconsistant oil pump delivery on some F-7's is primarily in the 6000-6500 RPM area. Some are very lean with ratios of 100-1 or more in that area. Readjusting the oil pump rod simply moves that ratio back in RPM. Idle oil delivery really doesn't change, nor does WOT ratio very much. EXAMPLE. If someone has a sled with a 100-1 or so ratio at 6000-6500, a few turns on the pump arm will bring that to approx 70-1 in that area. Because of the shape of the oil delivery curve, WOT delivery only changes a few points.
Here are some basic ratios the F-7 should have. But be carefull if you decide to check these on your sled, as an average won't necessarily give you good information. The RPM's you drive at can give decieving results. EXAMPLE. If you readjust your pump rod, and you always drive at 6000-6500, you will see a ratio change similiar to above mentioned. But if you always drive fast at higher RPM's, you may see little or no change to average ratio's yet you could still be lean at 6000-6500.
Here are some basic guidelines.
idle-4000 80-100:1
4000-7000 70-80:1
7000-up 40-60:1

If I am reading this right it is telling me that the machine won't be much richer on the high end and idle? Right or no?

That's how I read it but have to admit I don't understand how that could be.
