I typically don't run anything. I make sure to get as much fresh fuel in the tank as possible before the first ride of the year. I do run some heet during the season and recently have used the Polaris anti static stuff because I got 12 bottles of it. Always try to have non ethanol in the tank for storage. Can't say I've ever had any major issues.

bull shit test. you don't run two stroke mix in a 4 stroke motor. and marvel mystery oil does no claim to stabilize fuel they didn't test the three that would blow stabil out of the water? i've had k-100 clean carb's without ever taking stuff apart. but you have to run it on choke for 5-10 minutes for three times. then the snowblower or what ever this was done on ran perfect. try that with stabil.

Don’t want to start a big debate but this is a good point in the conversation to mention the good in using ethanol fuel DURNING THE SEASON when moisture is most likely to accumulate in the fuel tank… ethanol is beneficial here as it combat’s and carries moisture through the system. Not saying at all it’s what you should be running but if using nothing but non ethanol (rec fuel) I’d be adding a tad of isopropyl now and then. I definitely store my sled with non ethanol but I know guys that never use it on or off season with never an issue if stored treated properly with a FULL tank. Just my observation of many decades ..carbureted or into the fuel injection years

I agree. Using E10 fuel during the season is totally fine. For summer storage non ethanol is preferred. In the winter where I ride most pumps are 91 non so I use some heet. If the pump has 93E10 I will fill up with that. There also is some argument for a slight performance gain with the E10 fuel.

I have a dozen small engines between 10 and 25, maybe 30 years old. They do all get ran at least once or twice a year, and for as long as I can remember (last 15-20 years?) I’ve been storing them with SeaFoam and non ethanol fuel, and a shot of two-stroke oil. I think it must even preserve the gaskets and rubber parts too (think primer bulbs) , as I took a float bowl off a ‘90s generator recently and the bowl gasket would have gone right back in place if I had wanted it too.

I started using Star*Tron in my boat years ago and always had good results with it. Definitely easier starts after sitting for awhile. (5.0L MPI) Started using it in the sleds for summer storage. I do partially fill and replace the tanks early in the year, and then again late in the year, and so far, no issues with starting or running. As someone mentioned, I like to get fresh gas in them ASAP once we start riding and take it easy until I'm about 1/2 way empty and refilled again.

everything in that video basically just demonstrated how bad modern fuel is and that we are screwed basically. I parked a half ton gas truck for a month two winters ago, maybe 5 weeks. 40k miles on it, and the fuel pump set up during that time. That wouldn’t have happened 10 years ago. It only has the cheap ethanol fuel in it. My error

Yep. I just put one of my trucks into storage for the winter yesterday. I ran it down to the fuel light came on, put a bottle of stabil in it, and filled it to the top with 91 non ethanol. Ive been doing this for years and never had a problem in spring.
For good measure I run the truck down to half tank in spring and then fill it back up with 91 non ethanol again.
Ethanol absolutely destroys everything

I’ve used Fitch pucks going back to my Sabercat days and never had an issue in any shape or form. Most sleds to work properly need 2 pucks to do the job properly. Once in the tank I don’t ever buy any additives other than a shot of fuel injector cleaner a few times a season. I leave battery tenders on them and anytime of year I can start them with just the turn of the key.

Would just like to know the Fitch being dropped in and moving around the tank bottom would not cause a problem with any fuel pump and pick up components.. I’d try one. Not an easy thing to remove if ya had to..
