These helmet prices are getting out of hand. Never thought I'd see over a grand for a helmet. It looks sweet and I do use communications in my helmets but man.....
That being said if it is the end all be all helmet and I can buy it and be happy for the next 5+ seasons then maybe it's worth it. Generally there's always some downsides to all these helmets, even the high dollar ones.
So until we see some real on trail testing I guess we don't know how it stacks up.

Helmets I compare to oil, belts, plugs etc. Everyone has a favourite and helmets are no different. What one person thinks is the best another might dislike for many reasons. I agree riders that buy the plus $800 dollar helmet swear it’s worth every penny and others ride all year with no issues with a $300 helmet. How can we compare a CKX Contact helmet at $300 to an Oxygen at $900? You can’t even though they are very similar in appearance and functionality. Yet many say the cheaper of the two function as well as the more pricey helmet. So I have 3 helmets all different price points and all better in one way of another. Delta 4 $500 is warm, quiet and no fog. CKX Contact $200 super lite and huge visibility and no fog. My 3rd helmet is a 3/4 open face helmet that I love for its weight, visibility and ease of use for warm spring days.

I had an Oxygen and there was a lot of things I liked about it and some I didn't. Warm, quiet, great field of vision, and good room for comms/glasses. On the negative I had to warranty a few shields for distortion and moisture between the lenses. Cord quit working, had to replace and I really would rather not be connected to a cord.

Ya that's kinda why I started this post to get peoples take on it. When is it too much money? If you're spending 18k+ on a sled I guess we should expect to be spending $$$ on equipment. It is not an inexpensive sport anymore if you add everything up they're taking the average (blue collar) people out of it. Not sure if that's smart on the manufacturers part.

Some of us average blue collar people just wait a couple of years and snatch equipment and rides for a more affordable price. If ya can turn a wrench, even better. Especially us folk that don’t get much snow anymore.

I'm not in the market but the base Advex for $600 looks decent to me. It's less than the original Oxygen and it has a few upgrades...no cord, better ventilation, the sun peak. It's probably easier to put on since its modular. $600 is more than a base Mission but it's probably quieter than a Mission, so that's worth something.

The electric shield version for $300 more looks like a ripoff.
