Ok so the quick version is my 10 foot triton trailer got tossed in a wind storm a couple weeks ago. The clam shell top got destroyed but the trailer itself is fine. Insurance wants an estimate to put a new top on it. The problem is no one and I mean no one i've called (triton wont return my calls) can give me a price on a replacement cap. Looking for options (ie manufactures ) that i can get a quote and hopefully an actually top from. Any advice / info on other makes of caps would be appreciated. Oh and I already called talked with Canvas works and getting a quote from them. But i'd like to replace it with a hard sided cap like the original if possible.

It won't be cheap for them to replace all hinges shock struts frame work alluminum exterior and then lights and wiring including labour. At some point they should be giving up a new trailer. Or some sort of middle ground where you pay a small amount to upgrade.

There used to be a company called Bearcat that made aluminum clam tops for trailers. Not sure if they're in business anymore. Worth a Google search.

Agree with Go Bruins Go. Tell your insurance company you can not locate a source. Tell them to find a source, otherwise you will have one custom made. Pretty sure they will not like the quote and total the trailer, then you can buy it back on the cheap and use it for a utility trailer. Take the difference and buy a hybrid.
