NOTE: Polaris uses the abbreviation 840T for the Patriot Boost engine. That is correct by cc displacement. Most of the members here (and Polaris) call the Patriot 840cc engine, the 850.

2209827 Crankcase kit for 900(9R) has CNC machined intake & transfer ports to improve flow and power.

The MY23 650 2208740 crankshaft assemblies (which include connecting rods) still have the same part number, as those for MY21 & MY22. BUT they are also used in the MY23 900(9R) engine. (900 has lighter pistons than 850, so balance is the same). The 650/900 Crank has 3% less inertia than 850/840T.

The 850/840T 2208745 crankshaft assemblies still have the same part number, as those for MY21 & MY22, including Patriot Boost engines

ALL of the MY21up Matryx Patriot (650, 850, 840T, 900(R)) Crankshaft Assemblies have the same center crankweb pieces on either side of the center bearing:
5140941 MAG,
5140942 PTO

They also use the same Connecting Rods:
2208792 Connecting Rod Assembly 74ST FC & Wristpin Bearing.

THERE ARE ERRORS in the CRANKSHAFT DIAGRAMS, DON'T DEPEND ON THEM, AT THIS TIME

the 650/900 Crankshaft has lighter Outer Crank pieces:
5142849 Crankweb-74mm PTO
5142850 Crankweb-74mm MAG

The 850 and 840T have these Outer Crank pieces that are not numbered:

new/different wrist pin and/or piston in the piston w/ring & pin kit, being used:
2209887 on the MY23 650 Patriot engines,
2209886 on the MY23 850 Patriot engines. non-boost
2209354 on the MY22-23 840T Turbocharged Patriot Boost engines.
2209829 on the MY23 900(9R) Patriot engines. (same wristpin bearing as 650/850/840T) but 9R pistons have white Ceramic coated domes, lighter weight than 850/840T (same weight as 650 piston and pin).

3023610 are the 74.8mm cylinder heads for MY21-23 650 engines
3023282 are the 85mm cylinder heads for MY21 850 engines
3023283 are the 85mm cylinder heads for MY22-23 850 engines (higher compression)
3023976 are the 85mm cylinder heads for MY22-23 Boost 850 engines.
3023980-751 88mm blue cylinder heads for MY23 900(9R) engine.

3023972 900 CYLINDER-88mm is used on MY23 900(9R). It has new enhanced plating process, AND CNC machined transfer ports and exhaust improved at snout to improve flow and power.

FLYWHEEL and ECU - - - - - - - -

This summarizes information from 850Switchback, ExcursionPSD and others...

The High-Resolution ignition and Engine Management system used on some Mountain sleds for MY22, is rolling out in MOST of the MY23 flatland sleds.

More accurate flywheel positioning data supports better injector event & spark timing.

A new High Resolution Flywheel: 4019967 FLYWHEEL-PBR,21T-3T was used on Matryx Mountain sleds in MY22, and on MY23-26 Matryx 650/850/840T. This is verbally called the "21 minus 3 tooth" flywheel, I think to distinguish it from the simple 18 tooth flywheels.

The MY23-25 900(9R) & MY25 600 Cross Country uses a similar high resolution flywheel, but the part number is 4080622 FLYWHEEL-PBR,21-3T,LW. It is 10% lighter in weight, than the 4019967 Flywheel. Lighter flywheel weight allows quicker engine response to throttle

MY26 900(9R) use a lightweight flywheel: 4083021 FLYWHEEL-PBR,21-3T,LWT.

MY22 mountain & MY22-25 Boost & MY25 600 CC
sleds have a 4019295 ECU used with the 4019967 High resolution flywheel.

MY23-26 Matryx 650/850 NA/900 sleds, without Boost, use 4080749 ECU-BASE, KOK, NA. The faster chip in the ECU will process the more precise data quicker to respond to changes and make adjustment as needed. Improved throttle response and cleaner running.

The same 4017454 Stator is used in all MY23 650/850/850T/900(9R) engines, as in the other MY21/22 Matryx 650 & 850 Patriot engines.

With very fine identification of the position of the flywheel, AND a high performance ECU, calculations about fuel flow and Ignition timing, can be made at the last possible moment. This is more significant on a boosted engine, where pressure at the intake manifold is changing quickly and often.

Here is a table of the flywheel and ECU part numbers for the last few years 650 and 850 sleds:

VES Exhaust Valve Systems - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The MY21up Matryx 650/850 Patriots do not use the same E-VES system that the earlier 800 & 850 sleds with E-VES used.

All MY21up Matryx 650 & 850, use a Non Smart Valve VES system, where the ECU directly controls the Non Smart Exhaust valve actuator. They have 25% faster valve actuation.

Starting with MY15 ALL AXYS/TITAN 800's and 850's used a Smart Valve system where the ECU gives commands to the Smart Actuator, and the 800s use a PWM to Analog signal convertor. The Smart Actuator works out how much movement is necessary to achieve the desired position, and then sends success/failure codes to the ECU.

All 650 engines use a 45psi regulated PFA. The 850, 840T and 900 use a 60psi regulated PFA

2209838 Fuel Pump Assembly (PFA) only used by MY23 turbocharged Patriot Boost FLATLAND

2209835 K-FUEL PUMP 840T RMK INCLUDES FUEL PUMP, FILTER, PFA GASKET,3,11 only used by MY23 840T Turbocharged Mountain.

First, It is early, the data in the Online Parts database, is very changeable, not reliable.

Second, most of the more popular MY23 models are not yet in the Polaris Online Parts database.

But, here is what I have noticed at this time, that I think is likely to be correct.

Added information about what sleds are in the Polaris public Online Parts database.

.. At this time, the Boost turbocharged sleds, the MY23 Switchback Assault 146, and the MY23 XCR sleds are missing.
However the new MY23 Matryx 650 SKS 146 is now in the public Online Parts database.

.. At this time, the MY23 Mountain Boost turbocharged sleds, and the MY23 600 Indy Cross Country sleds are missing.
However the new MY23 flatland turbocharged Boost sleds are now in the public Online Parts database.
Different pistons for the MY23 850 Boost engines.

.. At this time, the MY23 9R (900) Mountain and the MY23 600 Indy Cross Country, sleds are missing. Some of the other models are missing some parts diagrams.
