Every year about 10-12 families like to go to Quebec for winter vacation. We've stayed at the Stoneham area last two years and St. Saveur before that. We're looking for a place that we can sled from our door and drive to skiing fairly close, or the other way around. Ideally, it's not too expensive or too far to drive (we're from Connecticut). We thought of Tremblant, but it's way too expensive, and Manoir Richlieu is a little too far to drive. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know what to tell you...were now being squeezed by rising fuel costs also...its not OZ anymore....as both skiing, and snowmobling are expensive. Outside of staying in the states...I'd still suggest the Mt. Tremblant area simply because its closer.

Go the Saguenay-Lac-St Jean region. Best snowmobiling in the world and the Valinouet ski area is there as well. Go to www.passionquebec.qc.ca to check it out. He has Chalets and Condos. Trail 93 goes right by it and the ski area is within walking distance. There is no night life with out driving 30 miles but the skiing and sledding are right there.
