I have a 98 ZR600 EFI that has developed a leaky gas cap. Whenever I fill it up with gas and go for a ride, I end up with a little bit of fuel running down the side of the gas tank. I'm assuming that there is probably just something wrong with the rubber gasket in the gas cap, so I'm going to try to replace that. I bought a new gasket, but I'm not quite sure how to replace the existing gasket. Has anyone ever done this before? If so, please let me know how you did it.

Thanks!

I wonder if it might have something to do with the fuel tank vent line. I'm thinking that a blocked, or kinked, vent line might force a bit of fuel around the cap when the fuel is filled right to the top. I maybe out to lunch, but it should be easy to check.
