issue right now is riding from the rooms and nightlife may not mix. early last week you could ride out of town, fridays rain took that away and no idea weather or not that will be fixed by the rain forecast this week. On our December trip we chose to ride out the front door and stayed at the ski area, heading up Friday and decided to stay intown at the Holiday Inn. What that may mean is an early rise to trailer across the river to ride but we knew that when we booked it. There is nothing really to do out at the mountain.

You could go to Auberge du Presbytère in Heberville... nice little place... quiet... but just on the side of the Laurentide Parc and you can easily go around the Lac-Saint-Jean or take the trails to get in the Mounts on Saguenay Side.

There is also this good hotel in Alma where you'll find a night life really hot... you can go by walk to every bar around and you should find everything your looking for.

For you, I think hotel Universel should be great...

I can vouch for the Universel in Alma, we walked to the bars on the next street over and had a great time. We had such a good time there we plan to saddlebag to there again this year.

I also stayed at Hotel La Sagneene (sp?) in Chicoutimi. You can ride from there and get to food and pubs by sled or car from there. We had a good time at Hotel Mt Valin which is less than 20 clicks by sled. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub. There is a bar and a restaurant there and they have a "garage" for the sleds that is locked. One thing about staying at La Sagneene is it takes a while to "get out of town" by sled due to all of the road crossings. On the other hand, you're in a city, with city action. We had a blast!

Hard to beat the Holiday Inn in Jonquiere. They are a HCS Supporter! The HI is also very central, you can go around the lake and back in a day, out to the St Lawrence and cross the Sagenauy and back in a day, plus numerous day trips to Mt Valin and back. IMO

Hey guys... I was talking about the places around the Lake Saint-Jean... beacause folgers asked about Lac-Saint-Jean.
There is alot of other nices places around the region. Depends on where you want to go... Alma is a nice place to start, you can get anywhere from there... it is the center line between Lac-Saint-Jean and Saguenay region.

I have not stayed there (KM31) yet, but rode there on Sunday. You can definatly ride right from the front door. Bring locks and cables to tie up you stuff, nice area, no problems yet, but don't be the first.
