If they are showing cracks on the sidewalls I would replace them.

I run Carlisle Radials and have had good luck.

You got 4 years out of a $60.00 tire...Time to replace them...Research the Kenda K399 tires...heavy duty... with 10 ply rating

 

Goodyear makes a trailer tire called the endurance which has very good reviews. After this season I will probably swap my trailer tires out.

I believe Hercules also makes a trailer tire with decent reviews.

 

I have Carlisle Radial Trail HD on one and Sport Trail on the other trailer. Have had them both for many years with no complaints.
My original Loadstars on my sled trailer were junk after 2 years with bulges in the tread area, that made them summer storage tires.

 

Going up on load rating will usually get you a better tire that can last a little longer. However, those dinky donut trailer tires seem to always show age issues before the tread wears out. Good catch to see it now and not find out beside the interstate.

 

Thanks guys. The Loadstar tires that are on my trailer are Load E and started showing sidewall cracks the next year after owning the trailer. I bought the trailer new. Maybe these tires were laying around for a while before trailer was built. I'm going to see if I can find the date of code on the tires. I need to get new tires so was curious if there was a better tire available.

 

From reading some RV forums the Goodyears seem to be a popular choice. I'd probably go with those if they are available in your size.

 

Has anyone tried these tires instead of Loadmaster? I read that these are radial tires and made by Goodyear.

 

First I heard of them, but found this in a RV forum. Looks like Goodyear only makes some of their tires. FWIW Im pretty sure those Carlisle tires I have are offshore now as well too.
I don't know of anyone domestically producing those small trailer tires anymore.

 

These tires are owned and made by Goodyear. Being a radial they have benefits over the bias ply.
