 just got this sled today i love the looks of it but i was wondering about a couple things. #1 was that i weigh 250 pounds so im not a light man, will there be to much stress on the belt and will i be going through them like crazy. and #2 with my weight will that effect the top speed and outa the hole speed buy a lot or little thanks for any answers

i would be more worried about the chasis falling to pieces. 02's have the worst brake design ever, which also makes the chasis like tinfoil because of the huge gap where the break goes through the tunnel and bulkhead. if you take the chaincase off ill bet its cracked. unless its never been jumped.

cause i was like you when i bought it, i didn't know. But now i do after taking it apart down to the bulkhead and tunnel every summer. This time i updated it by moving the brake up above the chaincase and covered the huge hole that the brake through goes by welding a plate over it, then drilled out all the chaincase holes.

You also might notice it cracking right at the back of tunnel where it kicks up.

Doesnt brake well in powder. takes a few seconds of presure before it will stop you.

you need to pull the chaincase completely out to see the little 1" piece of metal underneith. when that rips apart your chasis will have a lot more flex. but still work.

IMO it would break if you case a big jump. metal can only flex so much before it tears.

with the chasis the way it is i wouldnt be doing anything more then a 30' jump with a good landing. check it next summer, never know what it takes. might be able to check it if you took off that side belly pan and look directly under the chaincase from inside the tunnel.

once it cracks the hole right side of the chasis flex's. but still holds together because of the chaincase.

This is the hole zeppelin is talking about.

Thats just one of the hurdles I had to jump through to get a 03 Firecat bulkhead to fit on a 02 snopro. I never had any problems with the durability of my chassis, but I didn't race it either.

Hey Zep, I was considering doing the same thing to mine. Could you let the rest of us know what parts (and numbers, if you got em) that you used to relocate the brake assembly?

Yep, the 02s were a terrible design when it comes to durability :cn: . I'm sure mine is cracked (didnt check it yet). I'm getting some minor cracks welded up right now. Then I have to drop my motor back in and do everything that goes along with that. I'm rigging up a 98' Sno Pro oil tank instead of the sad joke of a tank they put in there from the factory (IE rubbing a hole in it from the jackshaft) :banghead: .

After I get it all back together, I'm trading it in on a new M7 153 EFI :div20:
