Looking to book an early January trip, starting south of Mont Laurier and working north.

Looking for some historical info on when the trails in this area have opened over the past few years? Understanding that it all comes down to weather each year, a sense of what the openings have been over the past few years may steer our decision.

Thanks all!

We have done a trip in that area around Jan 20 the last 5 years, and usually trails are just opening by then.. say 80% or so. Early Jan. is a real crap shoot IMO. There will likely be a few dry/easy to open trail by then, but certainly you will be limited in directions. If you start just north of Laurier and only head north( St Anne du Lac, Fer a Cheval, etc ) you may have more luck as many trails are old roads, hence easy to open.
