I don't know your sled specifically, but a couple of things I would check for firstly would be to look for a vacuum leak and also check the idle speed controller. I have had one of those go bad on my TZ1 Turbo a few years back. The plunger inside the unit had a broken shaft and would hang up.

My dealer said it is probably the air intake boot cracked causing vacuum issues. One more item added to the list when I get service this fall.

Yep, it did that all season but within 5-6 seconds it would calm down to 1800. The last two days of my trip it would not, even on a cold start it would not go below 3000

-18C in the morning and then days temps went to -8C. The riding conditionns and temps have been aorund the same all season, this just started the last two days of a long riding season.
Thanks for your input, much appreciated

My friends 8000 has the high idle issue, he waits for nearly a minute for it to drop.. Also now when it's cold out it doesn't want to start when it's cold unless he gives it a touch of throttle..

I missed that your sled was a 2014. Yes you could be developing a leak at the flanges depending on how you store your sled. Better to be safe than having to spend way more on a rebuild. Have a good one!

Update, my tech working on the high idle issue (he is a Doo tech) has not been able to resolve the problem. To date he has found the header cracked, had it repaired. Replaced the idle assembly , did not resolve the it. Checked the intake boot for cracks no issue. Can i assume that if the header was cracked that the ecu needs to be re flashed?

The eco won鈥檛 actually ever change the code in it. It only compensates for temp, air, etc. You can clear codes by taking the negative lead off the battery. You never know it might just idle down? I鈥檝e also seen with the Firecats to get it to lower idle to normal by having the sled warmed up on a good stable lift , stand whatever. Then bring rpm鈥檚 up to full throttle first half slowly and then wack it wide open real fast and let go just as fast and let it idle down. That used to work and on EFI鈥檚.

The display shows no codes but I will try taking the negative lead off. Do I install the lead back on after a few seconds to reset the eco?
Thanks for your help

Just take it off for about a minute then reattach it. It will clear the icu and resets itself. Might work.

Buddy's Norseman 6000 holds about 2300 rpm while my Pantera drops to 1700 after a number of seconds. Looking forward to your follow-up.
