ONE RIG has an awesome mount that requires no drilling and looks great.
We both live in the same town here in Maine. When I got my new Matryx Assault he stopped over with his 2021 Matryx Prototype design to check the fitment and set me up good.
I highly recommend the wire style over the cable but he builds both styles.
His website is onerigdesign.com or you can call him. #207-776-9085 His name is Eric
Tell him J.Mac recommended you reach out to him.

Did you and Eric get a picture of yours mounted?

I sent Eric a lot of pictures, trying to get a BRP double coil to mount just back of the front outside bogie wheel. And verifying clearance.

This discussion will be endless, if we're not clear which scratcher we are talking about.

Most of these scratchers have a separate HOOK of some sort to hold the tip of the scratcher when not in use, some just hang the tip of the scratcher over the rail when not in use.

BRP makes 3 types of scratchers that could be used on the Matryx SBA 146
The term reversible here means they will not be damaged if left down, while the machine moves in reverse.

  • BRP Tunnel/Running board Mounted, very long, articulated scratchers. 860201279 Reversible
  • BRP Rail Mounted Single coil spring scratcher. One scratcher mounting bolt per rail. BRP says they are NOT Reversible
  • BRP Rail Mounted Single coil spring scratcher. 860201140 Two scratcher mounting bolts per rail, Reversible
  • BRP Rail Mounted Double Coil spring scratcher. 860201728 Two scratcher mounting bolts per rail. Reversible
  • .. RSI also makes similar Double Coil spring scratchers

The Ibexx are similar to the BRP Rail Mounted Single coil spring scratchers, One scratcher mounting bolt, with special bracket. except they are supposed to be reversible.

  • There are also Duraflex or Straightline style scratchers which are thick metal cables, that usually mount with one hole in the rail, but some use a bracket with two mounting holes in the rail. Reversible

So, saying I mounted the Ski-Doo scratcher on my sled and it works fine, is pretty vague.

I took pictures and so did Eric. I'm guessing he will be updating these pictures to his Website? I have never posted pictures here before. I'm not the most computer savvy. The wire holder sets inside the rail just behind the fancy looking rail stiffener that sets outside the rail. Eric didn't want to cover up that pretty piece. My only complaint in hiding it inside the rail is that it takes a bit more effort to bend it up into its black plastic inside the rail holster. I will tell you that it will never pop out on it's own.

I'll have to guess that you mounted the scratcher behind the torsion spring slide block. That is much further back than where I want to put it.
What style of rail scratcher did you use? Single coil? Double coil?

Picture above is where I am trying to mount my rail scratcher bracket.

Raised up for picture, but you can see how the holes will fall,
Front one on the rail (black dot), rear one in a lightening hole, need some fabrication, they both will need drilling of course.

So this is the first time I have ever tried to post a picture so hopefully bredviken it will help a bit. Please note that I had this on my 146 SKS for 3 years so some of this hardware looks rusty and will be replaced. Pic 1 has a bracket that came in the BRP kit that I cut to a better shape to fit the Polaris tunnel. Pic 2 has the hole that tensions the scratcher to the snow. About an 11 o'clock position on the RHS, about 1 o'clock on the LHS. Pics 3 and 4 are side and end views of how it looks in the stored position. The kit was for an XS Renegade and has been excellent for three years and I'm hoping for more. This was copied from TurboJamie back in 2018 when he did this on his Assault. Hope this helps.

i would never get single springs again. too much spring pressure. more prone to breaking
