I was wondering if any one knows if there is any safe ice in old forge or on tug hill.

There were tracks on 4th Lake in Old Forge. However, the lakes are not yet safe yet. Very thin cover and slushy.

I would not ride on them yet, It has been high 30s and in the low 40s the last few days, its got to be very thin!

We have been riding on our lake for about 2 weeks now. I live in Wells which is about an 1.5 hours from Old forge. After the weather today the lake has about 7 inches of water.

WHEN ALL THIS RAIN/SURFACE WATER FREEZES ON TOP OF THE ICE, IT SHOULD BE SAFE,BUT CHECK WITH THE LOCALS/ICE FISHERMAN ALWAYS KNOW BEST..

I'd give it a while yet... temps have been warm and rainy. We are now snowless too
