Seriously you could change gearing - gain top. lose some bottom.
BTW "only does about a 100", I would say that's pretty respectable for a 500. Keep in mind past Cats(sleds in general) have had speedos that were considerably off. This new one is really accurate so it is very likely you are getting a "real 100 mph". My 98 ZR 600 would consistently show about 110-115 on the speedo but on radar is would just break 100(101.3 to be precise), and that was in ideal conditions. Just something to think about...
how were your r's after changing gearing? try running it against a sled from last year or a polo to check if the speedo is just more conservative
