To GLS, or anyone else that can help with this question:

There is a clear plastic hose that comes out of the ECU (what's that stand for anyway?!) box on top of the airbox on the F7. Two questions: First, what is that hose for -- a vent/drain tube, or is it related to an EFI sensor of some sort? Second, what effect on engine performance could/would there be if this hose were somehow plugged... by water, ice, a kink, or MOST likely, from grease that has SOMEHOW spewed out into the area where the hose goes down next to the airbox???

Thanks for any insight you can provide concerning this question. -- Roy

Got a reply on Amsnow:
Ê
"It's the line leading to the barometric sensor. This adjusts for fuel map delivery as altitude changes. It needs to be kept open. DO NOT route it inside the air box. There are major pressure changes constantly inside an airbox. This would greatly affect the fuel delivery. -- GLS"

F7 owners, you might want to simply pull the tube we're talking about here once in a while -- it's not hooked to anything -- and make sure it's clear and not plugged up. -- Roy
