23/42 = 1.83 ratio this also requires a 78p chain. 97mph @ 8250rpm

22/40 = 1.82 ratio and uses the stock 76p chain. 97mph @ 8250rpm

22/39 = 1.77 ratio and uses the stock 76p chain. 100mph @ 8250rpm

23/39 = 1.70 ratio and is the stock gearing. 104mph @ 8250rpm

I run the 22/40 and am very happy with it, cost me about 1.5 mpg

This info is out of my 2006 Polaris Shop manual.

What is stock for the 2006 Fusion Dragon? I am thinking its the same as the Fusion 600HO.
What differences have you noticed by going to the 22/40 1.82 ratio?

Thanks

The only difference between a Dragon and Basic Fuse is grafics and better shocks........

It comes out of the hole a ton quicker......

I raced a 2006 MXZ 800 X (for fun) twice and gave up 100# to the MXZ rider. Almost even till 75-80mph every time. Switched sleds and I couldn't pass my 600 till 85. Before the gear switch, I'd have gotten my ass handed to me.

My sled is basically stock except ........ Gutted air box, 22/40 gears, Holtzman Tempa-flow, 400 mains.

With out gears 14mpg, With gears 12.5mpg (60% throttle like a light switch, 40% driving Miss Daisy).

Top speed I witnessed was 102 now its 97mph..... I don't lake race so who cares :dunno:

The only thing
that would make me go back to 23/39 1.70 is a trip to Quebec and the open highway type trails.......

The difference in your top speeds is same as I seen on my 06 Fuse6 when I went from stock 23-39 to 23-42.

I'm with SS on this one. I geared mine down for the 136" track and I am damn glad I did. Corner to
corner like a f'n rocket!

Difference is, I didn't see no change in fuel mileage. :dunno:
