What does anyone recommend for a 98xc700 192 studs down center.
Sled to be trail rode, sometimes raced on fields and ponds. Most of the
time speeds below 100 mhp. I have gears from 19-24 top 39,40,41
bottom and 68 and 70 pitch chain. Thanks for any information. Alan T.

along with clutching and other mods, I had mine geared 23-40, ran Great. Much lower gear, and all that torque will spin the carap outa the track

the 23-40 works with the stock chain, but I don't remember what that is

I agree with RacerDave. if you want to gear it down that low, you'd need to have good amount of studs to the track. If you dont, not only you'll beat the crapo outta the track, your clutches will overshift, slippage will occur, your clutches will get hot and you'll ruin the belt in such hurry. :flush: Anyone? my 97 700 is geared to 23/41 and i think its the best gearing for this sled

23 41 70 pitch chain but in order to fit the chain with this gearing
you have to take the chian tighter and grind a flat spot in it on the rould
spot that holds it to the chain case i dont have any pics but when you
take the cove off you will see what iam talkin about try this gearing it works
good

let me know if you have any questions :beerchug:

heres a gearing chartlots of info on gearing info of what will work and what chain to use
