I have a 07 F1000 IMP (Approx 220hp) I was wondering if the 68/54 gear would be better for ice dragging at (1000 or a 1/4 mile)?? Also, how hard is it to change out the gears yourself? Can anyone help the newbie?? Thanks in advance!

Changing gears is a piece of cake. need to know rpm of engine to figure out what you should run, though. Big difference between 1000ft and 1/4 mile. For best setup, you should choose your distance.

Glenn do you have to grind the new reverse case to fit the 68 tooth gear in?

Thanks for the help, I will try my stock set up and see what happens. It sounds like this may be the way to go on 1000 foot runs.

Glen, can you put the 08 ECU's on the 07's? Also, are the updating the ecus?[/b]
Yes. We have seen no performance gain in 08 ecu over 07 ecu on f1000,s. Don't know about updates.

I was talking about putting a 68/54 gear in the diamond drive case. I think the 08 is the same as the 07.
