I really want to raise my front end up on my 02 xc800. It sit way to low and my preload is already maxed out. Does anybody know or had experience with different springs? If I put a heavier spring on will it raise my front end up when I crank up the pre-load? My common sense tells me yes, but I know sombody has either tried this or have heard of it. Months ago I remember seeing a picture of one,. but cant remember what was done. I'm not looking at buying different shocks, unless prox shocks will fit. More curious about different springs. Thanks

Sounds like your front springs are badly sagged out and needs replacing.
In my experience, too much preload just makes the sled more tippy in the front.

Most all of the '01 and '02 Edge fronts I've seen lately are sagging so badly the primary windings are coil bound. There's a heavier set (white) listed for the '04 Edge that aren't that expensive (last time I looked) and work great.
