how tight are they supposed to be? When I took out the old bolts, they didn't feel very tight at all, plus the threaded portion of the bolt did not protrude through the ny-lock of the nut. This is the reason for replacement. Even though this update should of been done log ago, I never had any problems with the bolts or nuts coming loose. So I was wondering just how tight are the new ones are supposed to be.

Manitoba Man,

Torque the suspension mounting bolts to 30 ft.lbs. Remember, you have to hold the nut on the backside of the bolt while you do this proceedure.

Hey JLeo, even though that front portion of the skid frame has to pivot a little as the suspension collapses, the bolts should still be quite tight?

The vast majority of the force that propels the sled forward comes through those 2 bolts. So yes, they do have to be tight. The pivoting action of the front arm has nothing to do with how tight the bolts are. You are clamping down on the sleeve on which the arm pivots when you tighten the bolts.
