This sled rocks, 350 miles in two days running the lakes and portages in voyaguers national park. I was pulling top end on my buddy's XC 800 (bye bye polaris!!), only thing I couldn't beat was a ZR 900. And this is with a 270 lb rider!!!. The digital tach sucks!!!!! Every time I would punch the throttle, she would over rev to 10,500! Is this realistic? I think not, but i did feel as though I was losing a little top end when it was doing that. I would always come back to 7,800, but isn't 10,500 a little high to recover from, i was expecting maybe 8,400.

The high tach reading/recall problem is old news to most of us here now. Ask your dealer about the "Firecat Update Kit" which addresses three separate "issues" -- one of which is the sporadic tach readings. He should have 1/2 of the kits sent to him by Cat very soon now.

Who was the 270 lb rider -- you, or the guy on the 900ZR??? -- Roy

Took mine in for the recalls, they did the rope and checked the others including the coil. Tach works fine now.
