Anyone get the fix done? What's it look like, cob job or a well thought out fix? Post any pics if you have them, thanks. Mine looks fine, not sure if I really need it done..

They fixed mine last winter when it failed, they put a new tank in it

Mine is in the shop this week and they are putting a new tank on and also an insert in the filler neck for more rigidity.

:doh: My brothers sled same as mine is about to have his done a third time way to go poo. I hope the third tank holds up. I think with a hot summer in a garage is not enough ventalation plus a bad desinge.

My tank neck is weeping a bit on my 02 xc700. Is this recall applicable to mine?

Mine's gotta go in for the recall soon too. Can anyone get me the part number for a clear tank?? I was thinking about paying the difference to have the tank replaced with a clear one instead. Is there even a cost difference between clear and black tanks?? :dunno:

I TOOK MY TANK OFF AND TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND HE SAID I DIDNT NEED TO TAKE IT OFF, HE WAS GOING TO GIVE ME THE RECALL AND I WOULD PUT IT ON. HE SAID IT WAS A RUBBER PIECE THAT SLIDES OVER THE NECK. :dunno: BUT THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER. DONT TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT, HE IS KIND OF A NO NOTHING.

i have a 2004 prox 700 and a 2005 SS. neither are in recall to best of my knowledge. per Poo website. anyway i did cross thread the cap way to many times. lucky it was during day and i could see gas spitting all over side of tank .

did you buy it new? If so you should have gotten notice in mail if applicable

i did 3 recalls on 04 proxs,04 proxr 800 very easy install takes about 5 minutes,you apply a primer to the filler neck and new insert,let them dry,install the instant loctite,puch insert into neck it snaps inplace,then hold into position for 2 minutes and remove the installation tool,very easy,simple,makes filler neck smaller on the inside dia. approx. 1/4 inch,looks fine

My dealer told me some are getting new tanks while some are getting the retrofit. What determines what you get?? He didn't indicate that the tank would neccessarily need to be cracked for a replacement. :dunno:

dealer ran my vin's on puter. no polaris recall on my 04 pro x 700 nor my 2005 SS. only 2004 had issues per dealer? i would assume all the 04 prox have same tank ????? how about prox 2. is that tank different?

I thought tanks were the same. My X2 is an '04 and I got the recall in the mail. Sounds like somebody is missing something with your sled.

mine may have been a late build? somewhere i saw a list of sleds affected. maybe on this forum? or another? list was provided by polaris. i believe the 2004 prox 700 was not on list. my vin was run and no recalls at all on it. all my dealer sells is polaris sleds atvs and cycles. they would know!

I got an 04 700 x-2 and I got a letter, your dealer is probably too lasy or don't want to bother with it...

My 05 XCSP 600 neck broke flush to the tank about a month ago....

Still no recall notice, Calling the dealer in a few weeks to see whats up and schedule servicing!
