Well put in reeds and and i could see scuffed pistons,( not real bad) i wonder would it effect the power? with the clutch kit and reeds it turns 8080 on recall but on the tack it reads like 7700 - 7900 so i wonder if everything is ok and it was a short distance about 250', it seems like it got lots of power, so what do you think??????THANKS

O.K.: Call me stupid, but I now know what a scuffed piston looks like..but how do I avoid it? What should I do to keep that from happening?

Also, must confess....My first 40 miles on my F-7 were either on my way to 90 mphs or over. Does that automatically translate into a scuffed piston...problems? Now you got me nervous.

Scott i 2 had run mine hard in the break in stage...racing with a poo 700
when i only had 3 miles on..and running it hard up to 112 on a packed
road....no it does not mean u have a scuffed piston..just had my
pull cord and pull cord bracket done..had the exhaust off to change
the pull cord..got the dealer to look at my piston's all are fine and
i have 176 miles on now..just make sure she is warmed up good
and go easy for the first couple minutes of driving.

Highlander...I noticed the 8080 recall this weekend and when I actually looked at the Tach while riding it was only at 7800-7900...much like you. I have noticed a couple of posts with 8080 MAX RPM RECALLS...I am wondering if this is an accurate recall or some kind of weird spike....

The picture of the piston is a little fuzzy on my computer, but even through the fuzziness, that piston seems shot. Scuff marks are VERY LIGHT marks on a piston, and the piston wall will look like new. Heck ,let me see if I can figure out how to load a photo on here. I'm computer challenged! Here goes.....

Extremepowerful,

Make sure the pics are either .jpg or .gif files and that they are 75kbs or smaller. You can resize any picture on your computer and save it as either of those with 99% of the software for graphics.
