Can anybody tell me whats the differance between the f6 and f7 i know they have the same base motor but the top end is different say if you took a f7 top end and dropped it on f6 would you have an f7 then? Sorry to confuse anybody just wondering the differances :dunno: is the clutching the same i know that they weight the same...... ( overall will a f6 become a f7 by just placing the f7 top end on the f6 base thanks.)

Any change in power will effect clutching so no the clutching is not the same. Carburation, whether it is EFI or not will also be different. Gearing also will probably be different (though I'm not sure about that). As far as the engine--as long as the crank and rods are the same then yes you can put a 700 top end on a 600 and get a 700, however, only in reference to displacement. Check with your Cat dealer to see if the bore size is the only difference in engine displacement between a 600 and 700. Even if that is the only difference, however, you will still have all the other factors previously mentioned to deal with. The transfer ports are probably different also. Hope this helps.

Just the top ends are the difference, maybe send the ecu or cdi out for reprograming or get a f7 ecu/cdi. So just top end, ecu/cdi, pipe(depends), heavier weights(04's f6&7 have same clutching and gears except weights). Everything will bolt on with no mods, can be found cheap in the swap or salvage.

All compression gauges read different, at least your cylinders are close to the same compression.

Before you know it we will be riding soon.
