Track is setup correctly.
APV set correct and working.
Chain case tension correct.

Sled goes max 85MPH.

In for its updates today.

Dealers tech took it out for a spin.
States sled is over reving @ 8450RPM, indicates max HP @ 7800.
He could only get it to 85MPH. Indicates that it seems like something
is grabbing.
When throttle is let off, sled comes to a stop quickly without break.
I had indicated previously that the secondary was binding. They
took it apart, cleaned and polished it (previous to test runs).

Any suggestions I can pass along to dealer?

First off, sled is supposed to run the 8500 range. Not 7800. 7800 if for the F7. Check the exhaust probe. If it malfunctions top end performance is greatly effected. That's my bet. I think they have to check it with an ohmeter???

Could make sense. When I was first riding, the probe came out.
Was bouncing around for a while.
Will check.

Boy how pathetic. Some dealer are real sad. 7800 for an F5. There are two typical things causing low mph on F5's. Valves unhooked or servo not working or pipe sensor issue. I would not let said tech work on your sled he seems like an idiot. At 7800 the F5 is 10 or so hp down from it's peak potential @ about 8500.

I'm going to take a couple of these comments back to my dealership.
I cannot only blame the dealer. Unbelievably they have not got any
performance spec sheets from Cat. They were told they'd be in at the end
of Feb.
I am begining to think a lot of things right about now.

85 MILES PER HOUR IS GREAT OUT OF A F5. ITS GEARED FOR THAT 19/40. IF YOU WANT TO GO FASTER CHANGE YOUR GEAR, IT WILL COME AT THE COST OF EXCELLERATION THOUGH.

Actually, the F5 can get the MPH without the gearing.
Turns out that the "binding" was caused by the primary clutch.
Dealers tech ended up finding that the bushing was caught up.
After some sanding, the tech took it out again and!!! 100MPH.
Went out and did speed runs:
2 x mid 90s
100mph.
Gained about 16mph by having the primary work. He phoned Cat and
advised them. I guess they weren't surprised.
I have one glazed belt and another on its way to it.
I am seeking compensation from Cat, want a new belt.
-Regarding the RPM, misprint in their spec book!!
