We went to Old Forge last week and put around 150 miles on our sleds. Our sons F-5 had a leak at the top shaft seal which was throwing grease/oil out that appeared first on the recoil. We took it back to the dealer Thursday and he called and said the bearings were bad. The good news is the shaft was not damaged. we are going to pick it up Monday and go back up to Old Forge Tuesday. Other than that the machine has run very good. The oil light does come on after around 70 miles, but there is plenty of oil left in the tank. We switched over to Maxima oil, so we will see how it performs.

We have put around 200 miles on his F-5 since the repairs and no oil/grease appears to be leaking any longer.

for the oil consumption most of the f5's oil pump cable to tight, it should slightly lag behind the throttle. to adjust the y pipe has to come off and you need special wrench that cat sells.
