me and my dad went riding in around 10" of powder snow and when he gets snow all in the hood it loses a cylinder has anyone had this problem also

Your more than likely getting snow injestion or lack of air through the air box caused by the intake vent getting plugged with snow dust. This will cause the motor to run in a failsafe mode. Check the intake vent (right side when on the sled) right under the corner of the windshield. If there is snow in the screen, this is your problem. Should be able to just let it idle for a few moments and melt away.

Ditto what JTD said above – been there, done that on my very first ride this year. 'Cripes... always SOMETHING! Seems the in the powder, the skis throw the snow directly into that intake during any kind of a turn. There MUST be a better way... these are supposed to be SNOWMOBILES after all!!! – Roy
