Rode home from Eagle River to Phelps on the sled to see what the condition
the trails are in. Well they vary greatly, some spots were great and others
icy & thin. I rode very cautiously because of the varying conditions. They
change going thru the same stretch. The trails are smooth and you can go
anywhere, but I would recommend having sharp carbide runners for turning
when you catch the icy areas and slow down. It is not conditions for hot
dogging or aggressive riding altho plenty good to take a trail ride.

I may know which stretch your talking about, but don't pay attention to
what the numbers...
Yesterday stayed completely on the trails to see what they were like.[/b]
Trail intersection of Hwy 17 & Townhall Rd & Deerskin Rd (NF-2199)
2199 was a BANZAI run between E,R, & PHELPS back in the days before the building boom.

is 2199 the forest # for Deerskin??? coz thats plowed down tight all the way thru.
But that would be an awesome ride if they didnt plow it
So is usually Indian Springs

Deerskin & 2199 are the same...Minimal plowing back in the 70's-80's...Had a buddy who lived at Deerskin & Manual Lk Rd. Back then we could get from his house to the derby track faster by sled via 2199, than we could taking the truck down Hwy 17 to 45 and in to town.
