Finally got out for a little spin to see what the conditions are. It stared out
rough & icy (trail 17/3). 10/13 was rough also til the T intersection. But 13N
was nice and so was 45N. The rail bed from Conover to N. Twin was nasty,
rough with down trees all thru it (USE CAUTION). 17 from Phelps to
Eagle River was ok, some rough spots & another down tree. The warm
weather doesn't seem to be taking a toll on the trails at all, just lack
of snow to be able to get the groomers out. High today hit 39
but trails were still icy & hard packed not slushy at all.I was able
to get around fine, but all 'n all rough & icy. Any snow we get on top
of this should make trails in decent shape

well, I have to say it looks better than I thought it would. Hopefully get that new snow this weekend!

I made the same run Tuesday night-from Chicago ave-to Pioneer lake over to N/S Twin then up around phelps over to conover and back down to ER-I was pleasantly suprised at how nice the run was from Phelps to Conover and for the most part the trails were just fine for lowsnow riding with plenty of snow for cooling.
