Issue is to loose of a fit between bearing and shaft, Once it starts to spin it doesn't stop unless you do one of the options listed above. The bearing it self usually doesn't go bad.

The Options are in the last 4 pages of this post along with the links that were added, I prefer Dimpling the shaft.

Well, you could send it out to the above place ( Page 3 ) and have a dowel welded, Google search on Yamaha site they seem to like using a set screw, Barn of Parts has a part that goes in the end of shaft and spreads it a bit Or you could do like most and dimple it or use a retaining compound.

I am sure if you don't think any of these fxes that we have been using for years are not good enough then you could machine your own shaft to the perfect diameter or source or own bearings that are the perfect fit.
