huge difference. the biggest ones are being the sxr is single pipe with long travel suspension and srx is triple piped and short travel suspension.

what tehy mean is the srx, with 3 pipes, makes a great deal more hp then the sxr. however, the sxr is lighter and has a longer travel suspention, a better bump sled, as opposed to the better high-speed sled of the srx.

700 SXR = 112 hp on a good day
700 SRX has between 134-142 hp depending on the year.

So if his SXR had triple pipes would the motor be the same???

no, totally different motor. those motors do gain a good amount of power when piped and hold up to the additional power no problem, still wont make as much as a srx though.

I had 3 triple piped SX-SXR,s. They will put out 130 hp but won,t have the low end grunt that the SRX has. Many will tell ya a triple piped sx will have 140+ hp but it won,t happen. A good running SRX will cook a triple piped sx-sxr.

I guess gearing down won't help much since it's already lower than the srx.

1.77 ratio vs 1.65....... the srx is geared lower.

divide second number by first.

YES..I know how to do the math.(SXR-22/39..1.77) (SRX-23/38..1.65,).The higher the number the lower the gear.
