North Bay, Ontario, March 16 2002, Chris Hanson of Lindstrom Minnesota sets a new speed record of 167.2 mph (268 kph) for a snowmobile with one engine. He used a Billet 1200cc Union Bay engine and an Anderson chassis on a ice track of about 1000 feet.
I have heard that he ran a faster speed on the return run. He was also quoted as saying that the sled should have ran in the range of 175 MPH, but they didn't quite have the jetting right that day.
